I'm having connectivity issues with my broadband router. In the last few weeks various devices have dropped connectivity for 5 minutes at a time. I have followed the standard "reset the router to factory settings" advice from sky support, and it temporarily worked, but 24 hours later I'm getting the same issues.
The error is coming up "Access point temporarily full". Can Anyone help me? A similar issue has been reported here recently. It's an error message that hasn't been reported before then.

Whenever the extender latches onto the modem the modem's WiFi would show an error stating 'Access Point temporarily full' and doesn't connect to it at all. Although the wired connection from the modem and the WiFi connection through the extender works perfectly fine. Once that limit is reached, the device will refuse any new connections.When designing a community wireless network, it helps to separate your rooftop mesh routers from the Access Points APs people connect to. In the diagram above, the rooftop routers have antennas that are designed to connect long distances, from rooftop to rooftop. This better matches the range of the mobile phones and laptops that people use most often.
Note: This guide is written for networks that are using single-radio or single-band Wi-Fi devices for the rooftop routers. If you are using dual-radio or dual-band Wi-Fi routers, you can skip to the end of the document and read the Dual-radio or Dual-band routers section. Once your long-distance rooftop routers are setup and working well, you can add Access Points indoors or outdoors where people want to use the network.
You will need to make a decision before configuring your APs: Should users on the Access Points use a firewall, or should everyone connecting be a full member of the mesh? If you want a bit of extra protection for the users on your network, you should set up your Access Points as basic routers. This would allow people on the network to connect to your local servers, or to the Internet.
It would also prevent any other users on the network from being able to communicate directly with their devices. In some cases, you may want users to be able to share files across the network, or set up a temporary chat or web server.
This is much more difficult in this setup. If you want everyone connecting to the network to have full access, with no firewalls, you should set up your access points to pass-through from the mesh router. This will allow people on the network to connect to any local servers, to the Internet, or provide local servers themselves.
Some people or organizations on the network may want their users to be directly connected to the mesh, or they may want an additional firewall. You can use either configuration anywhere on the network. Below there are four options for setting up your access points. The first two options use NAT, and have the option of using the default firmware or Commotion on a router.
The second options use the router as a pass-through, and can either use the default firmware or Commotion. There are many, many options for Access Points out there. This guide cannot cover them all, so instead it will just show the options for configuring TP-Link routers and Access Points. If there is only one port regardless of what it is namedplug it in there. The WAN port may be another color, such as yellow or red.
First, Set the Admin password - Default passwords are easy to guess, and can lead to security issues. Set the administrator password to something strong, but easy for your maintainers to remember.

I open up the troubleshooter and troubleshoot the problem, and it works.
However, it does the same thing soon after. I run the troubleshooter again, and what do you know it works. I am stuck in a never ending circle of troubleshooting. This happens on a more than daily basis, and it's getting annoying. Is there any way to stop it from happening for good?

How satisfied are you with this response?When my friend is using my wireless, we both drop signal at the same time. I also lose signal if I am the only one using wireless. This seems to occur fairly frequently, I typically lose signal several times in a row within the space of ten minutes. Then it seems to work for an hour or so, before repeating. I had a friend look with their laptop and didn't see anybody else on the channel that I am using - channel 1.
The other channels that were in use are channels 6,10 and Can you offer any suggestions as to what may be the problem. I am wit's end. You have done some good troubleshooting.
Based on what you described, I don't think you have an access point going bad. I checked Linksys's web site and there is a newer firmware update available for your particular router. While I don't think this will totally fix your problem, it will help eliminate a firmware problem as being part of the problem. I also don't think you have an encryption key problem because in that case, you wouldn't be able to connect at all.
As an experiment, you can temporarily disable the encryption but I don't think this will make any difference. Since the signal dropping problem happens repeatedly and with more than one laptop, that would seem to indicate a problem in the immediate area.
It's possible there is another access point using that channel, but it's not broadcasting an SSID, which means your laptop might not see it. Grab a copy of NetStumbler and see what it shows.
If you dont see anything with NetStumbler, you may be dealing with an interference problem - from a microwave oven, a cordless phone or a wireless security system. See if you have a friend whos haa tool called Wi-Spy from MetaGeet. This will help you identify the source of the interference. If you don't have access to this type of tool, you will need to try the old fashioned way of troubleshooting - turn off any nearby appliances microwaves, phones, etc.
If you are still having a problem, you might have an access point that is dropping its signal periodically. If the newer firmware hasn't helped, you might want to try a different access point to see if that works any better. You can try some higher gain antennas to "pump up" the signal quality of the access point.
Most retailers that sell your brand of router will usually have one or two options to choose from. Another possibility is to try some 3rd part firmware replacements to what is running in the router you have - DD-WRT is one that comes to mind.
